Rob is a very large Real Canadian champagne/cinnamon boy. To meet him, you'd never know what this guy has been through. Rob and Amber have had a hard life before the shelter. They were mistreated when they were very young and then they were caged outside in winter and spring for over 6 months. They had no bedding in their cage and no cover. They got rained on, snowed on, and were fed rancid rabbit food for a while. Before they were left in the cage, they were beaten and s didn't have any human contact until they came to the shelter. Their food was dumped into the cage. The cage was disgusting, not fit for anything to live in. Because of all this, they were very untrusting of humans, that is, until Cathy and Paul of QCFR rehabbed them and worked for months on their pent-up aggression and biting problems.

Rob, and cagemate Amber, now like other ferrets, do not nip except when playing roughly with you (when you instigate that!), and are good to be in a room with children over 6 supervised. They like to be held, petted, and scratched. They have come a long way, but still need a home who realizes that trauma can sometimes cause small back steps at times. Rob has a wonderful personality now, but could use a quieter, stable home. He is beautiful and still amazes me how different he is now than when he arrived in Moscow filthy and frail.
